living
water
Water is
an important symbol for sustaining life and for cleansing
and purification. The Bible refers to living water, flowing
from the living God, which is to be a source of sustenance
and cleansing for His people.
In the
book of John, Jesus Christ said, “If anyone thirsts,
let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as
the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers
of living water.” John 7:37-38.
The Paradox:
because I drink and I’m filled and refreshed, I thirst
for more.
